Choline Base or Choline Hydroxide is used as a strong base, corrosion inhibitor, catalyst for converting CO2 derivatives, and a phase transfer agent. It is hygroscopic and thus often encountered as a colorless viscous hydrated syrup. Choline hydroxide is used in industry as a pH regulating agent and as a catalyst with high yields for synthesis of certain organic compounds.
